I recorded a short piece similar to the Trial Of Tears intro by John Petrucci of Dream Theater.
I used Reason 3.0 for the background instruments and effects.
This is an interesting way to learn guitar by using your ear. The lessons are all audio (no reading or tab!) – which is also helpful for people with visual impairments. If you think about music as a language, we learned how to speak mostly from listening and imitating others around us.
In some practical cases – being in an orchestra for example, it’s useful to read music but for many people playing just for fun, this could be the way to go. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been learning jazz but I feel the hardcore theory way is not the way to go. I don’t think the jazzmasters learned that way either.
